Rooted in empathy. Built for justice.

Legal and Network began in a single community hall in 2012. Today we are a national movement of lawyers, paralegals and volunteers making the law work for everyone.

Our mission

To ensure that no person is denied justice because of their income, background or location — by providing free legal aid, rights education and community legal networks across every district.

Our vision

A society where rights are not privileges but lived realities — where every person knows their rights, can claim them, and belongs to communities that protect them.

Our story

From one community hall to a national network.

In 2012, a group of young lawyers noticed the same thing: people weren't uninterested in the law — they were shut out of it. Courts were far, lawyers were expensive, and forms were written in a language most people never spoke.

So we started where the problem started — on the ground. Our first "community courtroom" offered free advice every single Saturday. By the third year, we had trained our first 100 community paralegals. By the tenth, we had a national footprint, a digital helpline, and legislation influenced because of our advocacy.

Today, Legal and Network is a certified non-profit delivering programmes in 48 districts, backed by 3,200+ volunteers and 640 pro-bono lawyers. The ambition has never changed: make justice accessible, accountable and human.
